Why I Teach

I began teaching out of my home four years ago when my four older children were in school full time and I wanted to have more quality time with my 3 year old. As many busy mothers understand, it is easy to spend most of our time doing household chores and countless other things for our family.  So I began teaching preschool again mainly for my son, so he could have quality time with me and also have the opportunity to make new friends and engage in positive social interactions.

With my degree's being in Preschool Education and Family Science, I do have the educational background necessary for running a quality program, but it is my 16+ years of experience as a mother that have truly taught me how to teach, love and appreciate a child's ability to learn and grow in their own unique way.

My curriculum focuses on learning through play and hand on activities. I prepare daily lesson plans, but I also stay flexible so that if the kids are more interested in another subject, then I will just "go with the flow".
